Mysticism, Military Collide in Image's SOCOM GN

The mythical kingdom of Atlantis faces off against the American military machine in Image Comics' SOCOM: Seal Team Seven GN (DEC051757, $12.99), a "spy-fi" action thriller from up-and-coming creators M. Zachary Sherman and Roberto de la Torre.

Image Comics has long been a hotbed for new creative talent. The publisher that gave big breaks to Michael Turner, J. Scott Campbell and Robert Kirkman has developed a reputation for fostering some of the finest creators in the industry and allowing them to thrive under its banner. In Sherman and de la Torre, Image looks to hit the jackpot once again. The two craft a tale of mysticism and political intrigue in this 136-page, black-and-white original graphic novel that fans of the new, white-hot video game are sure to love.

When a submarine mysteriously goes down in the Persian Gulf, CIA agent Douglas Griffin is called back to his former SEAL team to investigate. Meanwhile, the U.S. Navy is pitted against the underwater Kingdom of Atlantis in a full-blown war against humanity's extinction. With the threat of global devastation looming, the SEAL team is taken from Atlantis' 5,000 fathoms to the even deeper political waters of our own government.

The graphic novel is scheduled to ship on February 8.
