Comics & Collectibles: How They Have Changed

Remember when you displayed your grandmother's China in the China hutch. Now days you will find figurines of comic book heroes and villians proudly displayed in their place. The family picture that once hung above the fire place mantel has been replaced with a movie poster. The magazine rack in the powder room is now filled with graphic novels. Yes, more and more people around the world are joining the collectible club. Members are not limited to collecting one item. Items of all shapes and sizes are being collected. I recently visited a friend who proudly displayed several bust of comic book and movie characters in her formal living room. Another friend had a game room with life size statues of comic book figures. Playing cards and familiar games such as Monolopy are becoming collector items. It appears that anything that can be branded with character or a sport figure has become a collectible. What will the world of collector's display next? I guess we will just have to keep our eyes pealed to find out.
